This design/build project involved a hangar and nose dock areas, aircraft fuel system maintenance shop and administrative offices to support the beddown of the C-17 mission at Hickam AFB.
RIM Architects provided the design for a steel super structure with CMU walls and EIFS finish on the lower half of the structure, and metal siding supported by structural steel on the upper half of the structure. A sloped standing seam metal roofing assembly was incorporated for the roof of the structure. The hangar has a concrete floor with special epoxy floor finish. The administrative office area is a combination of carpet and VCT floor finishes.
